The Roundhouse Shop was so named to acknowledge the significant contribution made by The Roundhouse to the smooth running of the Ipswich Railway Workshops.
Demolished in 1978, the images wrapped around the shop pay tribute to The Roundhouse and the glory days of steam.
Nowadays, the Roundhouse Shop provides unique mementos of a visit to The Workshops Rail Museum for train enthusiasts of all ages. Many items are made exclusively for The Workshops Rail Museum, some even being made onsite in the existing Ipswich Railway Workshops, of recycled timber and steel.
All profits from The Roundhouse Shop are returned to The Workshops Rail Museum and contribute to its ongoing research and exhibition programmes.
